Lasun (Garlic) Coconut Red Chili Chutney is a lip-smacking South-Indian chutney recipe. Made with red chilies, coconut, Lasun (Garlic), this easy-to-make chutney recipe can be prepared at home and is best served with vada, idli, dosa and uttapam. The garlic red chilli chutney recipe is very easy to make. Just mix the ingredients and blend them together in a blender. You can alter the addition of red chillies as per the spiciness. So, Lets Cook Good Food…


Ingredients:


Cloves Garlic  5-6

Fresh coconut, grated  One Cup

Dry red chili powder  1-1/2 tsp

Kashmiri red chili powder  ½ tsp

Turmeric Powder  ¼ tsp

Tamarind  A small piece (if using tamarind paste use 1/2 tsp)

Salt, to taste


Method:


  • To make the chutney, in a blender/mixer-grinder, add garlic cloves, red chili powder, Kashmiri red chili powder,fresh grated coconut, turmeric powder, tamarind and salt to taste.

  • Shut the lid of the jar and blend them together using a little water at a time, until you get a smooth chutney of  desired consistency.

  • If you wish, you can season it with mustard seeds, asafoetida and curry leaves.

  • Serve the Red Chili Coconut Chutney with Ragi Idli or Karnataka Style Set Dosa or  even Kuzhi Paniyaram for a delicious breakfast.
